Easter Treats

It was fun coming up with several projects using the same sheet of 12 x 12 patterned paper for this week's Easter class. Everyone enjoyed learning to make a customized envelope with the Envelope Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers, (sold out but more are on order) and those little Memory Box bunnies were perfect for the matching card and envelope. The eggs in the bird's nest have a lovely sparkle to them (which doesn't show up in the photo) courtesy of  the clear "Wink of Stella" brush pen. I seem to find a way to use this wonderful marker on everything I've made since I got it. Again we are out of stock, but as soon as they are available at my suppliers, I'll have them back on the shelf and if you don't already have one, I highly recommend it as your next gift to yourself ...lol!
The shop is closed Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday. Wishing you a wonderful Easter filled with many blessings.

Time for a contest!

Happy April! So grateful for the sunshine these past couple of days and hopeful that we have seen the end of winter weather at last. During March everyone who bought 10 or more patterned papers from the sale bin had their name entered in a draw for a free card-making class and last night I drew the name of the lucky winner. Congrats to Wally! I know she's been making great use of all the paper she bought as she is on a mini album kick at the moment. There are still LOTS of beautiful patterned papers in the bin for .50 cents each if you buy 10 or more, so why not grab yourself a bargain next time you stop in? I also have selected dies from Sizzix and Spellbinders on sale at 30% off and I'll take a dollar off the price of any of the 6 x 6 pads on the sales counter so it's a great time to shop:)

It's been quite a while since we had a card contest and so here's another chance to win a free card-making class. All you need to do is buy a sheet of Graphic 45 "Place in Time" April cut-a-parts paper and create a card or other project with it. It's such beautiful paper and there are spring and Easter themed images on it so it's quite seasonal! For each project you bring in you will get a ballot for the free class (and you could make several things from the one sheet.)
As we celebrate Earth day during the month of April, you'll  get a bonus ballot if you use a recycled item on your project. Think of things you wouldn't normally use on a paper crafting project, but that you would have around the house. Please pick up your sheet of paper no later than Saturday April 12th (store is open from 10 - 4 that day) and submit your projects by Friday April 18th to qualify for the draw. I will draw the winning ballot on Tuesday April 22nd which is Earth day. I can't wait to see example of all your creativity!

3 Butterfly cards

I made all 3 cards for this week's class with black peel off stickers. The first two are painted with Dylusions inks and the last one was made from the leftover pieces after the outline sticker is removed from the backing sheet. The easiest way to do this is with a sheet of transfer paper and a bone folder or something you can use to burnish with ...a table knife handle would work as long as you apply enough pressure.
I wish it was warm enough to see a real butterfly today, but at least it's beautiful and sunny ... I even have the window open and I can hear the birds chirping! Have a wonderful day!

Shortest spring ever!

I hope everyone enjoyed the one day of spring like weather yesterday because we are back to snow-maggedon today ...YUCK! I suggested that everyone stay home this morning  rather than risk the roads coming to card class and I think everyone was happy to postpone till next Wednesday.
I've had a lovely few days with my daughter Andrea who drove from Kitchener on Saturday for a short visit. Thanks heavens she was driving back yesterday ... I would have been sick with worry if she had been driving on the 401 today! Anyway, my card samples are done, but I didn't get around to photographing them until this morning. The good thing is that now class has been postponed, everyone is seeing them a week ahead of time, so I'm actually early for a change ...lol!
Stay warm and safe today!

March mark-down madness!

This winter has had many of us going a little stir-crazy (especially me!) and so I thought I should shake things up a bit and clear out some of the patterned papers that have been around for a while. I've just finished emptying over 50 shelves and everything went into a sale bin on the counter. Some of the patterns have only one or two sheets of each, some have 10 or more. Here's the deal: Buy 10 sheets (or more) and they will be marked down to .50 cents each. Buy fewer than 10 and they will be .75 cents each. Most of them are double sided so there's a great variety of patterns. At this price, you can have a lot of fun with die-cutting, making flowers, mixed media and fussy-cutting elements from a page. Use your imagination ....$5 can go a long way. To make this deal even sweeter, anyone who buys 10 or more sheets will get a ballot for a chance to win a free card-making class. The draw will take place on March 31st. Shop early for the best selection!
