Dylusional!

This simple little card came about as a reult of a previous session of experimenting with Dylusions spray inks. I had opened this lovely Technique Tuesday stamp and stamped it in Archival ink and then tried several different types of media to colour it, but I wasn't getting anything I was happy with until I picked up a scrap of watercolour paper with these ink colours on it and began to picture the stamp on that background ...BINGO! That portion of the card was quick and easy (although extremely messy on the fingers:)) Figuring out how to finish it took much longer and my fingers are now multi coloured and my table is a big disaster (nothing new there!) I highly recommend old clothing for this week's class ladies, and unless you are going straight home after class, you'll want to wear protective gloves (I have lots). I have a new product arriving on Monday that I'm dy-ing (play on words) to try out, and if I have as much fun as I hope to, we may use it in class. I have another card ready, but I'll wait and see how my playtime works out before I decide whether to use it for this week. Just keeping you guessing ... enjoy your weekend!

A new logo for the Town of Kingsville

Our lovely little town of Kingsville is about to get a new image. I love the idea of living in "Kingsville On
The Lake" and all three logos being presented are very attractive. I think it's great that we get to vote for our favourite, so please click on the link below and vote for the one you like best!

Happy Birthday Andrea!

Today is my daughter Andrea's birthday. She loves bright colours and patterns so I went through all my scraps and came up with this! I don't often have the courage to mix and match quite so much but I had lots of fun with this so .... for next week's class cards everyone will be able to choose different papers, die cuts and stamps to create three cards with the same basic layout, but a totally different look. It's a very fast card to make ...what takes time is choosing which papers to use and how to arrange them to your liking. It should be a fun class!

Unique!

Last Saturday's mixed media canvas class with Kim was so much fun. I really enjoyed watching the development of these unique pieces of art from start to finish. Kim did a fabulous job, guiding everyone through the steps, while allowing them complete freedom to choose the elements and arrangement. The results are spectacular as you can see. Thanks to the ladies for allowing me to share these on my blog.
I haven't "had a go" at one of these yet, and to be honest, I'm afraid that if I start, I'll be so obsessed, that nothing else will get done around here ...lol! I'm sure we'll be doing these again soon though, so be sure to sign up nice and early when the next class is scheduled as there is quite a lot of prep involved.

Back to class!

Sorry to be so late posting pics of this week's cards. I have two done and still have to work on our Christmas card. Looking forward to seeing everyone again!

Pirate Palooza!

Kingsville's Pirate Palooza sidewalk sales and Treasure Hunt were lots of fun this weekend. The glass in the lower half of the shop door is covered in little handprints from all the kids coming in asking for the word clue:) The ladies in Kim's mixed media class had a great time and each of them completed a fabulous "one of a kind" canvas. We enjoyed a delicious lunch from Merli's Cafe, delivered by Frank and best of all ...the weather cooperated for all those businesses with outdoor sales. I'm really looking forward to attending the "Just Ask" art show and sale at Pelee Island Winery today after church ... so glad it's sunny and a little cooler for all those artists/vendors sitting outdoors. If you didn't make it there yesterday, why not stop by the show today and support some local artists and artisans. It runs from 10 - 4 ... maybe I'll see you there!
Card classes start up again this Wednesday morning and Thursday evening ... can't wait to see all my lovely ladies around the table again! It's only been a couple of weeks but it seems much longer!
Have yourself a wonderful Sunday:)
