Here are the first two cards for this week's class. If you have wild honey, tumbled glass, and stormy sky or faded jeans distress inks and a blending tool, please bring them along. I probably won't get the last card up until Monday evening so stay tuned:)

For the scrappers out there...
Here are a few of the fabulous layouts I saw at CHA...there are LOTS more! I like seeing these in frames because they are definitely pieces of art. If I did this kind of work, I couldn't bear to have it between book covers. I'd want to look at it all day long. I hope you are as inspired as I was, when you look at these!

A few of my favourite things....
Hi everyone! I'm back from CHA. We had a great time and saw the most amazing samples and products. Took a couple of classes and TONS of photographs. I'll upload them a few at a time as the editing takes a bit of time. As usual, the summer show features lots of fabulous Christmas projects and products, so I thought I'd start with those. Enjoy........

Countdown to CHA
Last year was my first visit to the Craft and Hobby Association's summer trade show (CHA) in Chicago. I had a blast and of course my favourite part of the trip was taking a class with Tim Holtz and watching him demo his awesome products and techniques during the show. EVERYONE who goes to CHA gets a photo with Tim, so of course I battled my fear of the camera and brought home my souvenir snapshot...vowing to make a scrap-book page with it. Well, as many of you know....I am NOT a scrapbooker, but I AM a procrastinator and I still haven't had the photo printed a year later. Enter my friend Lynne, who IS a scrapbooker and presented me with this fabulous framed page last week because she knew I'd never get round to it. She even snagged the photo from my blog and had it printed...sneaky girl! This goes to prove that sometimes it does pay to put things off .. LOL! I could never have done such an amazing layout myself. If you haven't been in the store recently, make sure to have a close up look next time you visit. Those clock hands are cut out BY HAND! Awesome!
On Sunday, Lynne, Brigit and I are headed out to CHA 2012 to see all the amazing new products being released, take some classes and soak up all the inspiration. We'll take lots of photos and I'll be sure to share them when I get back next Thursday. I just added lots more paper to the .75 cent bin so stop in and have a browse...Jennifer will be here looking after things on Tuesday and Wednesday and she'd love some company!

Guest teacher
I'm so excited! I asked Karen if she would mind teaching the card classes for the next two weeks and she said YES...(insert happy dance!) I will be here for next week's classes and for Thursday July 19th, but Jennifer will be taking care of the store on Wednesday July 18th as I'll be on my way back from Chicago. Many of you have seen the first two cards on display in the store. There will be couple of minor changes in paper colour, pattern etc but the ones you will make will be very similar to these. How cute are those little elf legs on the third card? LOVE this simple but adorable card...again a slight change in paper, but I know you'll have so much fun making these cards. I do want to make sure it's worthwhile having Karen drive from Leamington, so please book your class ASAP. I have had a few no shows and last minute cancellations recently so I am going to have to ask you to pre pay for this class to secure your space. The cost is the same as always $15 plus tax and the only supplies you will need are adhesives and detail scissors. If you don't have any Glossy Accents dimensional medium at home,(used on the cup card) you may want to pick some up when you book your class.. It's just 2.75 and because it has a fairly long drying time, you'll want to apply it when you get home after class. Danielle will be here tomorrow so I can take the day off for my birthday....(29 AGAIN..lol)
Have a great weekend and try to stay COOL!!!!
