Happy Halloween ... here are 3 Christmas cards!

Yes it's Halloween and I'm posting Christmas cards ... sorry! The Thursday night class already made these last night and so now the Wednesday morning ladies know what's coming! Quick and easy cards! I'm loving this Nativity die and have made the same or similar card in several colour combos. Lots of fabulous new Christmas dies arrived today, but I am headed to the Zonta Club Christmas card extravaganza to make cards with 72 participants tomorrow and as I'll have my wares to sell there, there may not be much left on Monday (she said crossing her fingers...lol!) I guess I'll be placing another order next week. Let me know if there is something you need/want:)

More dies have arrived!

A new order arrived this morning and it was so nice to see that almost everything I ordered was in stock for a change! If you asked me to get something in for you, please give me a call or e-mail. I'm pretty sure I have everything set aside, but I'd rather be certain! I am also placing another order for dies this week so if there is something you have your eye on, let me know ASAP. Don't forget to check the earlier post regarding anniversary specials, which I have been adding to each day. I've also extended the deadline for the $50 gift card draw until Friday October 31st. Spend $50 ( before tax ) on merchandise and get a ballot for the draw.
Hope to see you soon:)

Variations on a theme.

For our first Christmas card class of the year I decided to use up some very pretty paper that has been around for a while and try to make three cards with the same colour palette. I only had 5 sheets so I had to be careful how I used it as I never know for sure how many people will attend a class and I didn't want to run out. I'm really happy with the way they turned out ... love these colours! Even though I don't have any of this patterned paper left to sell, there are lots of other colours/patterns that could look just as pretty. I finally got more of the silver foil card stock in today but I'm still waiting for the gold. Hope you enjoy the cards. Thanks for stopping by:)

Closed this week.

I am heading to Cobourg this afternoon to be with my sister. Her husband's funeral will be held on Thursday, but I may stay until the weekend. This means the shop will be closed all week. I'm very sorry for any inconvenience, but I'm sure you understand. The shop will be re-open on  Tuesday October 14th and our Wednesday card class will be on the 15th.

Sad news.

I'm sorry to say that I will be cancelling the world card making day event at Merli's tomorrow. I just found out that my sister's husband died this morning as a result of a fall on Wednesday, and I'm not sure I could handle doing the event tomorrow.  I don't now yet what the arrangements will be, but I will definitely be out of town at some point in the week ahead. I will post any changes to my hours or class cancellations  here, but please call before coming to the shop to be sure I am home.
Be sure to hug your loved ones each day ... we never know how long we will have together, so let's make each moment count.

A Pink Christmas?

I'm not really into pink but I like to try non traditional colours for Christmas cards once in a while and I love the way this turned out. The second card is much nicer than it looks in the photo ... I have a hard time photographing shiny, sparkly stuff. Love the fall colours in the square wreath card. The new papers from Reminisce are so much fun to work with. I think I could do fall cards year round, but after next week's class we'll be focusing on Christmas cards as there aren't too many classes left before we have to get them in the mail ...YIKES!

Goodbye September ...

... hello October! It's not often that I see something while I'm out shopping and immediately get an idea for how to use it, but that's what happened when I saw these cute orange flowerpots at Dollarama a couple of weeks ago. Since I bought them I've been searching for "just the right twigs" to make the spooky little trees from my imagination. Yesterday, my friend Lynne brought me a beautiful bouquet of twigs ( 'cause that what friends are for right?) and Voila ... a cute little Halloween display. The Sizzix alphabet dies I have are the perfect size for the flower pots and I cut the letters from black vinyl. I like these sparkly bats which I cut using a Memory Box die and POW glitter paper. Now ...  if I saw a real bat, I would probably scream and faint in that order...lol!
