Flower pots and butterflies!

It's been quite a while since I made a flowerpot card and although it's quite a simple card to make, I'm a bit "challenged" when it comes to flower arranging, so I'm sure the ladies who come to class will do a much better job with their cards than I did with my sample here. It's a great card for Mother's day and would also hold a gift card nicely. We'll be making two different flowerpot cards, but at this point I only have one to share. The butterfly card uses some irridescent sticker paper that was a gift from Tina, who teaches Pergamano classes. I used it with a peel off butterfly which I cut out and coloured with alcohol markers. I also used some of my precious Chiyogami paper on this one ... it's so much prettier than I could capture on camera. Looking forward to a fun time with all my lovely Wednesday/ Thursday friends!

Happy Earth Day!

Look at the beautiful card and cute little box made by Wally for the April contest. Not only did she make great use of the sheet of Graphic 45 paper, she also added a couple of recycled items ...corrugated cardboard and a cute little curly twig from her garden.
Thanks for participating Wally ... you got yourself a free class:)

Easter Treats

It was fun coming up with several projects using the same sheet of 12 x 12 patterned paper for this week's Easter class. Everyone enjoyed learning to make a customized envelope with the Envelope Punch Board by We R Memory Keepers, (sold out but more are on order) and those little Memory Box bunnies were perfect for the matching card and envelope. The eggs in the bird's nest have a lovely sparkle to them (which doesn't show up in the photo) courtesy of  the clear "Wink of Stella" brush pen. I seem to find a way to use this wonderful marker on everything I've made since I got it. Again we are out of stock, but as soon as they are available at my suppliers, I'll have them back on the shelf and if you don't already have one, I highly recommend it as your next gift to yourself!
The shop is closed Good Friday, Saturday and Easter Sunday. Wishing you a wonderful Easter filled with many blessings.

Time for a contest!

Happy April! So grateful for the sunshine these past couple of days and hopeful that we have seen the end of winter weather at last. During March everyone who bought 10 or more patterned papers from the sale bin had their name entered in a draw for a free card-making class and last night I drew the name of the lucky winner. Congrats to Wally! I know she's been making great use of all the paper she bought as she is on a mini album kick at the moment. There are still LOTS of beautiful patterned papers in the bin for .50 cents each if you buy 10 or more, so why not grab yourself a bargain next time you stop in? I also have selected dies from Sizzix and Spellbinders on sale at 30% off and I'll take a dollar off the price of any of the 6 x 6 pads on the sales counter so it's a great time to shop:)

It's been quite a while since we had a card contest and so here's another chance to win a free card-making class. All you need to do is buy a sheet of Graphic 45 "Place in Time" April cut-a-parts paper and create a card or other project with it. It's such beautiful paper and there are spring and Easter themed images on it so it's quite seasonal! For each project you bring in you will get a ballot for the free class (and you could make several things from the one sheet.)
As we celebrate Earth day during the month of April, you'll  get a bonus ballot if you use a recycled item on your project. Think of things you wouldn't normally use on a paper crafting project, but that you would have around the house. Please pick up your sheet of paper no later than Saturday April 12th (store is open from 10 - 4 that day) and submit your projects by Friday April 18th to qualify for the draw. I will draw the winning ballot on Tuesday April 22nd which is Earth day. I can't wait to see example of all your creativity!
