Another fun class!

This week's cards involved lots of die-cutting but turned out super cute. I got lots of new dies in this week and they are flying out of here like crazy. I need to put in another order soon, because the ice cream cone and butterfly border shown on two of the cards are already sold out. The little "hello" bookmark tucks inside the lacy front of the matching card. The butterflies were inked in a rainbow of colours and then glued inside the border. If you have your own die, you can cut several out of different coloured papers (solid or patterned) and mix and match to save the inking part, but inking them worked better in a class situation as there was lots of other stuff to die cut. The colours are all from Tim Holtz distress ink collection and although you can't see on the photos, we added a layer of shimmer to the butterflies AND the ice cream with the clear Wink of Stella pen ...YUM!
The inside of the butterfly card reads: "Always there to cheer you after the storm."

A busy week

It's been such a busy week that I completely forgot to upload photos of the class cards! I always put them on Facebook first and then here, but somewhere along the way, I forgot my poor blog! Oh well ... better late than never. Wednesday morning was a hoot as always, in spite of the fact that I had a terrible headache and had misplaced one of the stamps we needed  as well as one of the dies. Thank goodness Carolyn was thinking creatively and came up with a solution to replace the missing stamp! Bonnie found the missing die, stuck to the back of one of the stamps and Jennifer found my missing stamp when we had lunch together yesterday, so all's well that end's well! Hope you like the cards ... they were fun to make.
Happy Father's Day to all the Dad's out there!

Local Talent!

I hope you get the chance to see the June edition of Canadian Scrapbooker because it features the talents of our very own Lynne Joncas!  Lynne was one of my very first customers when I opened the business in 2009 and many of her projects are on display around the shop. Join me in congratulating Lynne on her first published work. Bravo Lynne!

Open this Saturday afternoon!

Another beautiful sunshiny day! Perfect for a drive out to your favourite papercraft shop ...lol! It's not too late to take advantage of the 20% off sale on all in stock Spellbinders dies. There are some beautiful new ones as well as a good selection of Nestabilities. If you can't make it out here today, I'll be here from noon till 4 pm tomorrow. (Saturday) Someone is going to be working on the drywall and door frame at the bottom of the stairs, but he should be out of here by noon ( I hope). Have a great day!

Closed on Tuesday

Just a quick heads up to let you know that the shop is closed tomorrow as I have a table at the Older Adults Expo at the Kingsville Arena on Jasperson Ave from 10 until 3. Why not stop in and see what it's all about? There will be lots of businesses and organizations represented and I hear there are some good door prizes. Admission is free:)
I won't be selling anything ... just displaying some cards etc and handing out business cards. It's a good way to let the community know about my shop, now that I'm home based and I don't have that "visible" presence on Main Street anymore. Hope to see you soon:)
