NEW CHRISTMAS DIES from Memory Box!

I haven't ordered many so far but the new holiday dies from Memory Box are so beautiful, it was hard to resist pre-ordering a few. I have more on back order but these will probably disappear fast. More new designs from Memory Box and Impression Obsession are waiting for their new homes ... come and get 'em!

Not my usual style!

This is NOT a class card ladies. I just wanted to share the card I made for friends who got married at their annual backyard party a couple of weeks ago, without letting any of their guests know ahead of time. Wouldn't you know, we missed it! Anyway here's the card I made for them. A record amount of die cutting and fussy cutting for me, but it was fun to do ... ONCE...lol!

Cut it out!

In next week's class we'll be stamping an image and then cutting it apart. I'm still trying to decide whether to use the same technique for the third card. Hopefully get the third card uploaded before Wednesday for a change. Have a wonderful weekend:)

Old friends, new friends.

As soon as I saw these stamps I knew I had to have them. I made cards using this set for three very special friends and then decided they would make a cute class card too!

The pink card was inspired by a very similar one I saw on-line. I rarely copy cards but this one is pretty close to the original.
I discovered a new technique for creating an interesting background recently. You simply scrunch a piece of waxed paper into a ball, dab it onto a Versamark ink pad and lightly "pounce" it over your cardstock. Then sprinkle with clear embossing powder and heat emboss. Once the embossing has cooled, you can sponge inks over top and the embossing "resists" the ink, creating a very pretty background piece. I used Squeezed Lemonade and Ripe Persimmon distress inks here. The sentiment is a peel off sticker and the black pearls were made with a Viva pearl pen. I tried this "resist" technique with copper embossing powder on black cardstock which gives a very dramatic effect.

We had fun making these cards this week in class. Thanks for stopping by!
