Our first class card for next week is an easel card. I used gorgeous metallic card stock in dark blue and caramel colours. The only stamping is the greeting, which can easily be switched to an another sentiment. I think this could work for either a man's or woman's card. The addition of a small flower with a pearl centre on a small lace or ribbon bow would make it a more feminine card.

A LOVEly layout from Lynne
Look at this fabulous layout by design team member Lynne! The photo doesn't even begin to do it justice, you have to see it in person to appreciate all the fantastic details. I asked all the DT members to submit a "Valentine" type piece this month and I hope to upload each a photo of each one between now and Feb 14th. I hope you are as inspired by their creativity as much as I am:)

First class of 2013!
It's a brand new year so I celebrated by opening some new goodies to use for our first class ( like I needed an excuse..lol!) The first card features one of the Spellbinders Lattice dies...lots of possibilities, but I went with clean and simple. The sentiment stamp is one of three in a Hero Arts set that I've wanting to use for ages. The other two in the set say Happy Birthday and Thinking of You. I can see myself using this set a lot...it heat embosses beautifully! The second card is called a twisted easel card. I received a fabulous card using this technique from a wonderfully talented customer. Hers was much more creative than mine and I'm sure we will be making variations of this design throughout the year, but for the first one I decided to let the butterfly paper be the star. The sentiment is from another new set from Just Rite Stamps and there are lots to choose from, so you could use a different sentiment on your class card if you like.
I'm beginning a new tradition for 2013 and only posting two of the three cards we'll make. The third will always be a Christmas card but I won't post a picture. Once we get to the end of October we'll be making 3 Christmas cards in each class and I'll post all the pictures then. If you are coming to class and you have a Scor Pal, please bring it along. You'll also need a glue pen, markers and foam dots along with your usual supplies. Hope to see you at class soon!

I made a huge mess, but I LOVE the cards I made and it was nice to just "play" for a change. I hope you've survived all the preparations without too much stress. Now it's time to focus on spending some quality time with family and friends....I know I'm definitely ready for that:) The store closes at 4 pm today and my holiday hours are as follows:

Last class of 2012!
Sorry for the delay in getting these photos posted. Here are the last 3 for 2012... pretty darn cute if I do say so myself! This morning's class was SO much fun. It's amazing how laughter can erase fatigue sometimes. I was so tired before class but spending time with my Wednesday morning ladies always re-charges my batteries. I am so LUCKY!
