First class of 2013!

It's a brand new year so I celebrated by opening some new goodies to use for our first class ( like I needed an excuse..lol!) The first card features one of the Spellbinders Lattice dies...lots of possibilities, but I went with clean and simple. The sentiment stamp is one of three in a Hero Arts set that I've wanting to use for ages. The other two in the set say Happy Birthday and Thinking of You. I can see myself using this set a lot...it heat embosses beautifully! The second card is called a twisted easel card. I received a fabulous card using this technique from a wonderfully talented customer. Hers was much more creative than mine and I'm sure we will be making variations of this design throughout the year, but for the first one I  decided to let the butterfly paper be the star. The sentiment is from another new set from Just Rite Stamps and there are lots to choose from, so you could use a different sentiment  on your class card if you like.
I'm beginning a new tradition for 2013 and only posting two of the three cards we'll make. The third will always be a Christmas card but I won't post a picture. Once we get to the end of October we'll be making 3 Christmas cards in each class and I'll post all the pictures then. If you are coming to class and you have a Scor Pal, please bring it along. You'll also need a glue pen, markers and foam dots along with your usual supplies. Hope to see you at class soon!
